Discovering authentic ramen at Ramen Wang Paris

Around 3 years ago in Paris, I stumbled upon a culinary gem that quickly became one of my favorite dining experiences—Ramen Wang, in the 14th arrondissement . Nestled in the city’s vibrant streets, this cozy spot instantly won me over with its promise of authentic Japanese ramen. From the moment I walked in, the inviting aroma and the sight of the open kitchen, where chefs skillfully crafted each bowl, set the perfect tone for what was to come.

Rich and flavourful broth

The star of Ramen Wang is undoubtedly its broth, specifically tonkotsu. Meticulously simmered for hours, the broth delivers a perfect balance of umami and subtle sweetness.  Each spoonful felt like a warm embrace, making it clear why ramen lovers return again and again.

The noodles were just as impressive—springy and fresh, providing that satisfying chew that every good ramen demands. I loved how they perfectly complemented the broth, soaking up its flavours without ever losing their texture. It felt like the perfect harmony of ingredients in every bite.

Thoughtful and generous toppings

Ramen Wang’s toppings were thoughtfully chosen and generously portioned. I especially enjoyed the tender slices of slow-cooked pork and the soft-boiled egg with its creamy, molten yolk. The crisp veggies and subtle hint of chili added exciting contrasts that made the bowl so much more than just noodles in broth. My personal favourites are the Pai Tan Aka (with chilli garlic oil) and the Pai Tan Kuro (with black garlic oil).

Open kitchen and tatami seating

I have to mention the unique ambiance: the open kitchen gave me a little peek behind the scenes, watching the chefs work with precision and passion. Even more special was the tatami seating area, which made me feel like I was dining in a traditional Japanese home—such a wonderful touch that added warmth and authenticity to the experience.

Beyond the food, the friendly and attentive staff made the visit even more memorable. The intimate setting, combined with genuine hospitality, is making Ramen Wang feel like a home away from home for ramen lovers and newcomers alike.

If you ever find yourself craving a soulful bowl of authentic Japanese ramen in Paris, I can’t recommend Ramen Wang enough. It’s a place where rich tradition meets heartfelt cooking, offering not just a meal, but a comforting, memorable experience that stays with you long after the last slurp.
